Your captain, Jake Stout, was born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska, and has spent the majority of his life on the ocean. He is a second-generation charter captain and grew up fishing his entire life in the waters of Southeast Alaska with his father, who has operated his own charter business in these waters for over three decades. Jake has the knowledge and expertise to catch fish, have fun doing it, and most of all, be safe while putting you on the fish. Captain Jake has been a commercial fisherman for a decade in the Gulf of Alaska, and all over the West Coast, fishing for halibut, black cod, salmon, swordfish, squid, and continues to commercial crab in the wintertime. He decided to return to Ketchikan for the summers to do what he is truly passionate about – helping people catch fish and experience Southeast Alaska. Captain Jake individually started and owns Stout Sportfishing, and is excited to show each of his passengers the beauty that Ketchikan has to offer.
